About  Deborah Darrin

Debbie is a certified Mindfulness Meditation facilitator.  She has studied and practiced mindfulness and meditation throughout many years of her life and has focused on cultivating Theravada meditation from the Buddhist tradition over the last 10 years.  The Theravada tradition integrates cultivating calm, tranquility of awareness (samatha), by concentrating the mind (samadhi), so we can then be open to greater insight (vipassana) and wisdom (Prajna/Panna) .

Her wishes are to live life moment to moment with awareness and to continually move in the direction of relieving suffering in the world, one heart at a time, one moment at a time, inviting that view to be a continuum of practice.

Debbie’s motto is:  Feel the body, listen to the heart, cultivate the mind. Discover Freedom in Authenticity.  Create your life!

Among Debbie’s first spiritual teachers were horses.  There was something about the wordless relationship that drew her into the “world between the worlds”.  There was a wordless invitation to commune, to observe, to listen, to hear and to respond to with mindful caring attention. She learned many lessons through the school of “hard knocks” with horses.  Over and over being called to trust inner wisdom, “trust your guts” kind of situations.  She has accumulated extensive experience and education in horse/human communications through Parelli programs and Eponaquest over the years.  Horses are her heart.

I realized this world between worlds, the place of stillness, of internal quiet, curiosity, seeing, hearing and allowing was a spiritual practice.  It, in fact, is mindful and meditative practice.

Debbie’s initial practices with mindfulness were cultivated through the teachings of great Zen master Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh back in the 1980’s.  Her mindfulness meditation teaching certification was through the 2-year MMTCP program created by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. (MMTCP – Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program.)  Debbie offers ongoing meditation sessions online and will be returning some offerings to in person.
